Revisiting the Lovely Renter Card

What is the Renter Card?

Whether you’re moving across the country, to a new city, or down the block, the decision to relocate is an exciting one! Once you find a listing on Lovely that meets your search criteria, you’re one step closer to a fresh start. The next step is actually viewing the unit. We know how daunting open houses can be, especially in competitive, supply constrained markets, which is why we’ve provided you with a tool to help stand out amongst your competitors prior to the open house: the Lovely Renter Card.

Instead of going through rounds of correspondence to provide a potential landlord with insight into who you are as a renter, the Lovely Renter Card allows you to attach these details to your very first email exchange simply with the click of a button. With the Renter Card, you’re instantly more appealing to potential landlords.

As a hub for your basic renter details, the Renter Card includes an array of information that landlords look for when evaluating prospective tenants. Besides basic fields such as your full name, email address and phone number, the Renter Card asks you to include your job title and employer (with the ability to verify via LinkedIn), self-reported annual income and credit score, your ideal move-in date, pet status, and number of co-tenants you’ll be renting with.

Here’s How it Works:

Once you’ve logged into your Lovely account, in the account settings found at the top right corner of your homepage, select “Edit My Application.”

Complete the information in your Renter Card. We recommend filling out as much as you’re comfortable with in order to provide the landlord with as much visibility into your qualifications as a renter. This also gives you the best shot at landing your dream rental!

When you find a listing that you’re interested in via an alert or by actively browsing our website, iOS or Android apps, it’s time to contact the landlord. Click the bright orange “Contact” button on the listing page. Make sure the small “Attach Renter Card” box is checked to ensure that the landlord receives your credentials along with a note requesting to view the unit. If you choose to call the landlord directly, it certainly can’t hurt to follow up with an email including your Renter Card. Once you click send, the email with your attached Renter Card will be sent to the landlord to view.

It’s as simple as that! With the single click of a button, you’ve now provided the landlord with the basic information needed to determine if you’re a potential fit for their property. So fill out your Renter Card, set some alerts, and before you know it, you’ll be unloading the moving truck!
