The Scoop: Rentals Near San Francisco Tourist Destinations

One of the great things about living in a great tourist destination like San Francisco is that eventually everyone you’ve ever known will wander through town and want you to show them around. Of course, they may also want to stay with you, which is why any new resident should probably get an air mattress upon landing at SFO.

Today we bring you open houses this weekend for a few fabulous rentals located near some equally fabulous SF landmarks to make it easier for you, Lovely readers, when playing tour guide.

Bay and Larkin (San Francisco) | Studio / 1 bathroom | $1,825

Open House: Sun. March 4th, 10-10:45am

A charming studio close to Ghiradelli Square and Fisherman’s Wharf? That’s living the dream to your far-flung relatives. This unit has beautiful hardwood floors, a giant closet, and overlooks Russian Hill Park. You’ve got the 30 Muni line for quick access to downtown or you can be really fancy and take the cable car with the tourists. Knowing the cable car operator by name? That’s sure to impress any guest.

1400 McAllister St (San Francisco) | Studio / 1 bathroom | $2,350
Open House: Sat. March 3rd 2-4:30pm

This fancy studio is located just a block away from Alamo Square Park and the famous Painted Ladies — yes, you too could live near the “Full House house” and experience the joy of many tour buses. The studio itself looks rather large — there’s a large space off the kitchen separate from the bedroom — and has a nice big closet. We are loving the hardwood floors and updated kitchen (with dishwasher!), and it’s a bonus that the unit allows pets so close to one of the best parks in the city.

509 Sanchez (San Francisco) | 2 bedroom / 1 bathroom | $3,250
Open House: Sat. March 3rd, 11am-1pm

While not bustling with museums and off the typical tourist path, the Castro and the Mission are hip tourist destinations in and of themselves. This two-bedroom apartment on Sanchez puts you right between the two, with easy access to BART and Muni to boot. Swoon-worthy: high ceilings, fireplaces, loads of light. It’s also got an updated kitchen and bath, complete with a dishwasher and in-unit laundry. Get ready to make everyone jealous (natives and tourists alike) with your perfect SF apartment.
