The Scoop: Pet-friendly Rentals for Dog and Cat Lovers

If you’ve heard it once, you’ve heard it a thousand times: it is so hard to find a pet-friendly apartment in San Francisco.

Of course, the other truism you may have heard a few too many times is that there are supposedly more dogs than children in the city. So where are all these pups taking shelter? If you and your furry friend are looking for a new place to snuggle, then this is your week. We’ve found three open houses this weekend for rentals friendly to both dogs and cats!

Van Ness & Green (San Francisco) | 1 bedroom / 1 bathroom | $2,695
Open House: Sat. Feb. 25 @ 11am – 12pm

This simple one-bedroom has a great location in between Cow Hollow and Russian Hill, which puts you and your pup close to all the fun at Fort Mason. We also think kitty lovers would love to curl up next to the bay windows and get cozy. We love the hardwood and remodeled galley kitchen, but we are concerned about the noise level from Van Ness — something to check at the open house this weekend.

415 40th Ave (San Francisco) | 3 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms | $2,900
Open House: Sun. Feb. 26 @ 2 – 4pm

This top floor apartment has it all — not only is it pet-friendly, but it’s got a backyard, parking, a dishwasher, and laundry (shared with the unit below). We love the location in between Lincoln Park and Golden Gate Park, with lots of restaurants and shopping nearby.

129 Fair Oaks (San Francisco) | 2 bedrooms / 1 bathroom | $3,300
Open House: Sat. Feb. 25 @ 12 – 12:30pm

Fair Oaks is an adorable street between Dolores Heights and Noe Valley, and we think this apartment is a real charmer. You’ve got great wood-detailing and a fireplace, but also modern comforts like a dishwasher and laundry. You’ll love the dog community at Dolores Park and the easy commute downtown on the J-Church or BART.
