Lovely Apartment of the Week: Updated and Spacious Edwardian in Mission Dolores
This week’s “Lovely Apartment of the Week” is guaranteed to enter a renters’ bidding war. It’s a gorgeous two level top floor Edwardian apartment in the popular Mission Dolores neighborhood. Not only is this apartment impeccably updated, this is the first time it’s been on the market and the location — on 14th Street sandwiched between Valencia and Guerrero — cannot be beat. I used to live one block over and I often find myself missing my old ‘hood. The neighborhood bar is Zeitgeist and the local coffee shop is Four Barrel. Grocery shop at Bi-Rite Market and/or the nice Market Street Safeway.
The apartment is bright and colorful with lots of mid-century modern features. The living room features a decorative fireplace and built-in book shelves. The kitchen is huge for an apartment in the Mission and it boasts marble countertops and a vintage Wedgewood stove. The two full bathrooms have spa-like qualities including a jacuzzi tub in the master bath. The downstairs bedroom has a Murphy bed. Who hasn’t fantasized about a home with a Murphy bed? Additional stand out features are double pane windows and central heating. I must admit, my Edwardian apartment in the Mission was a bit a lot on the chilly side and I’m guessing this place doesn’t have that problem. In-unit washer and dryer and covered single car parking leave me asking, what more could anyone need? Cats are negotiable but dogs are a no-no. Meow.
